The 28th Convocation Ceremonies of Lagos State University (LASU) will commence on Friday, 4th April 2025, with the Jum'ah Service at the Central Mosque, Main Campus, Ojo, Lagos.
In view of this, the Collection of Convocation Gowns by prospective graduands, begins on Friday, 4th April 2025 at the various Faculties, Schools and College.
Therefore, the conditions for all Interested graduands who wish to collect the Convocation gowns are to take note of the following:
- They must drop their certificates at the point of collection and when they return the gowns, they will pick their certificates;
- Presentation of Convocation payment receipt.
Diploma and First Degree Graduands are required to pay a mandatory sum of Thirty Thousand Naira (N30,000:00), while Postgraduate (Diploma and Masters) Graduands are to pay the sum of Forty Thousand Naira (N40,000.00) only, online via www.lasu.edu.ng/tsa/epayment/default.php
Invitation cards, Notice and Convocation Package will thereafter be issued on the presentation of receipt of payment.

Notice to Graduands
Convocation Package Payment:
- Visit: LASU Payment Portal to pay for the convocation package.
Return of Academic Gowns:
- Academic gowns must be returned by Friday, 11th April 2025 to avoid a fine of ₦500 per day.
- Lost or damaged gowns will incur a replacement fee of ₦30,000.
Certificate Collection:
- Certificates will be available for collection immediately after the ceremony, subject to the return of academic gowns.
Graduation Protocol:
- First-degree graduands should move their tassels from right to left when declared graduates.
- Higher degree recipients should wear their caps with tassels positioned on the left.
- Seek Faculty Officers’ assistance to ensure proper attire.
Courtesy Protocol:
- Female graduands should curtsy while shaking hands with the Vice-Chancellor.
- Male graduands should bow without removing their caps.
Seating and Time Guidelines:
- Graduands and guests must be seated by 8:30 AM.
- Convocation Procession starts at 9:00 AM. Latecomers will not be allowed into the auditorium.
Photography Restrictions:
- Unauthorized movement or photography during the ceremony is prohibited.
- Graduands must wear attire in their faculty's designated colors.
Clearance Process:
- Graduands must complete their clearance in their respective Colleges/Faculties before the convocation.
Important Reminders
- Graduands under the canopy outside the auditorium should stand as the Academic Procession enters and leaves the venue.
- Maintain orderliness throughout the ceremony.
