National Mathematical Centre (NMC), Abuja Commences SDG4 Examination/Competition Among Girl Student in all Junior Secondary Schools Across the Country. See Guidelines and Instructions for 2019/2020.
The National Mathematical Centre (NMC), Abuja has launched a nationwide competition in mathematics among girls in junior secondary schools across the country known as the NMC Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Olympiad Mathematics Competition.The competition is to encourage girls to develop interest in Mathematics beyond the secondary school level.

The slogan "SDG4" is about universal education for all and an important slogan is that everybody must be carried along.’’
Aim is to promote girl-child education in Mathematics through the competition, so that their interest and confidence would be boosted.
The competition which would be in three stages would have 120 students at the first stage from the six zones at 40 per zone.

The Competition is currently open for junior girls in secondary schools across the country and will consist of three stages in the competition.
The first round involves 120 students from each of the states across the six geopolitical zones; 40 students from each of the three states within the geopolitical zones will selected for the second round.
The Third stage will see be final Stage, where the best 3 students will be selected.
In a process where three students emerge winners from a State in the Second Round, they will be called Amazon 1, 2 and 3.
The Three amazons from across the 36 states and FCT will converge at the NMC centre for one week and there will be thorough tutorials in the first three days in preparation for the grand finale.
After which there will be examination to select the best three that will be called Heroine 1, 2 and 3.
Candidates who emerges as Heroine 1 would be crown “Queen of Mathematics in Nigeria”.
