Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Test-Runs New Registration Platform Nationwide Ahead of Commencement of 2020 Registration Exercise - Directs All Staffs to Register.
Determined to have a seamless registration exercise for candidates desirous of taking the 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has put all machinery in place to test run the new registration regime under the joint platform of JAMB and the National Identity Management Commission (NlMC) using the National Identification Number (NIN).Sequel to this, the Registrar had directed members of staff in offices of the Board nationwide to participate in the trial registration which started Friday, 29 November, 2019, and is to end on Tuesday, 3 December, 2019.
No fewer than 1,800 members of staff would be involved in the trial registration exercise designed to assess the workability of the new registration regime as well as identify the success rate and possible challenges with a view to improving on them for a hitch-free exercise.
The end-to-end registration has the full complements of procedures hitherto carried out by the Board such as creating a profile, using the NIN (sending the word [“NlN” space and NIN] eg. NIN 00123456789 TO 55019), purchase of e-pin and the final registration desk culminating in the printing of the e-slip using biometric authentication.
Members of staff at the National Headquarters, Bwari, are to create their profiles and obtain their e-pins at the Professional Testing Centre (PTC), Kogo, while staff at the state and zonal offices can obtain theirs from the Zonal/State Coordinators who have been empowered to vend pins.
After obtaining the pin, staff are to proceed with their registration in their respective offices and await the date forthe mock examination.
From the few staff that had complied with the directive before the close of work on Friday, November 29,2019, it is obvious that the partnership with NIMC is on course to deliver a UTME Registration like no other.
