Abia State Public and Private Primary and Secondary Schools First
(1st), Second [2nd], Third (3rd) Term Resumption Date for 2024/2025 Academic Session.
The Abia State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has announced that the resumption date for schools in the state for the third (3rd) term of the 2024/2025 academic session is set for Monday, 28th April, 2025. All public and private primary, secondary, and technical schools are expected to strictly adhere to this date, as school activities will begin on the same day to ensure the curriculum is completed within the term's schedule.
The second term calendar spans 14 weeks, with notable dates including:
- Mid-Term Break: Thursday, 19th June 2025, to Sunday, 22nd June 2025
- Closing Date: Friday, 1st August 2025
- Holiday Period: Saturday, 2nd August 2025, to Sunday, 22nd September 2025 (51 days)

The ministry has emphasized that any private school defying the official resumption date to resume earlier than stipulated will face consequences. All schools are advised to comply accordingly.
