Akwa Ibom Schools Resumption Date 2021/2022 [2nd Term]

Akwa Ibom State Public and Private Primary and Secondary Schools First (1st), Second [2nd], Third (3rd) Term Resumption Date for 2021/2022 Academic Session.

The Akwa Ibom State government has directed all Public, Private Primary and Secondary in the State to resume for the commencement of second term academic activities on Monday 10th January, 2022.

The Akwa Ibom State. Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel has approved the resumption of public and private primary and secondary schools in the State for 2nd Term 2021/2022 academic session on Monday 10th January, 2022

Consequently, parents and guardians are hereby advised to ensure their children and wards are properly kitted daily with facemasks in line with COVID-19 safety protocols.

Parents are also expected to provide their children and wards with all the necessary textbooks and writing materials.

School authorities are charged to ensure provision Of hand-washing facilities including running water, hand sanitizers and thermometers while ensuring that students, pupils and teachers comply with physical distancing within the school premises.

Students or teachers who feel sick are advised not to come to school, but seek medical help.
Government will not tolerate lateness on the part of the students or teachers just as students caught loitering during school hours will be punished.

Government reminds the school community that the State’s Education Monitoring team are committed to ensuring that these directive are not flouted.

School authorities are advised to ensure teachers complete their scheduled curriculum for the term in compliance with the State Government’s directive.

The Akwa Ibom State Government encourages school children to be serious with their academics in order to make their parents and the State proud.

The Commissioner for Education on behalf of the State Government wishes all students and teachers a successful term.

  • The reopening of schools in the state is strictly on COVID-19 guidelines protocol.

All Public/Private Primary and Secondary Schools in the State will resume for Second term on Monday 10th January 2022, for the 2021/2022 academic session.

On this note, Parents and Guardians are advised to make sure their Children and Wards return to school, while providing them with the required educational materials to make learning visible as academic activities will begin in Earnest.

Heads of schools are expected to have resumed at least 3 working days to resumption date, for a pre- resumption meeting with their Staff to further prepare for the success of the term, as directed by the State Government.

The third wave of Covid 19 (omicron virus) is wide spreading, therefore Parents and Teachers should take necessary precautions on the virus by providing facemasks to their children and running water/ hand sanitizers in the school premises.

Managements of Schools and teachers are hereby implored to be diligent in discharging their duties and to complete their scheduled curriculum for the term, Government will not also condone lateness on the part of Teachers and Students, as loitering around the streets and school premises will not be tolerated.
