It's no longer news that the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has enabled the appointment booking platform via USSD code for all candidates and the general public who is need of any of the board service that requires physical contact as from 2nd July, 2020.

This platform was introduced by the board due to the prevailing corona virus (covid-19) pandemic to ensure seamless and efficient delivery of their service also proactively protecting both staff and clients, particularly tertiary education candidates and the general public while still maintaining the covid-19 rules and regulations.

Therefore all ll candidates desirous of visiting any jamb offices for any transaction are required to book an appointment through their mobile phones to ensure that all jamb offices are free from crowd, thereby maintaining the safety standard as rolled out by the NCDC. It has therefore come to our notice that many candidates are still finding difficult or hard booking their appointments with JAMB via their mobile phones, so we have decided to create this thread of frequently asked questions (faqs) for candidates with such issue, offering them the best advice, solutions, suggestions and directives to ensure they successful book an appointment for any of the services which they require immediate attention from the board.

JAMB Appointment Booking FAQ, Difficulties Complaints & Solutions

Below are some of the frequently asked questions and possible solutions on the JAMB appointment booking process:

1. FAQ/ ERROR COMPLAINT: I tried booking an appointment with jamb but it keeps showing me service temporary unavailable and its getting me worked out I don't know what to do.
Has anybody done his or her own???
Is anyone facing this kind of issue? Pls help me out I don't know what to do or is it like that everywhere?

SOLUTION / ADVICE: Kindly make sure you are booking your appointment with your the mobile number or simcard used during your 2020 UTME or DE registration. If you are booking an appointment with centers like Lagos, Abuja or Ogun State you might likely get that error response due to the extension of the covid-19 lock-down in these state. Please keep trying or choose another State close to you.

2. FAQ / ERROR COMPLAINT: Please do you have any idea how much the JAMB appointment would cost? 

SOLUTION / ADVICE: To the best of our knowledge This service is totally FREE OF CHARGE but if there are hidden charges please do let us know.

3. FAQ / ERROR COMPLAINT: Can i book JAMB Appointment with a NEW SIMCARD?

SOLUTION / ADVICE: NOPE! you can only book an appointment with the SIMCARD or PHONE NUMBER registered during the 2020 UTME exercise.

4. FAQ / ERROR COMPLAINT: Who are eligible for the JAMB Appointment Booking?

SOLUTION / ADVICE: This service is only available to 2020 UTME candidates. Thank You

5. FAQ / ERROR COMPLAINT: What is the best network for JAMB appointment booking? MTN, GLO, AIRTEL or ETISALAT.

SOLUTION / ADVICE: We'd probably recommend MTN Network. Still let us know of your preferred network after successful booking

6. FAQ / ERROR COMPLAINT: I am experiencing difficulties booking an appointment with my MTN, AIRTEL, GLO or ETISALAT line.

SOLUTION / ADVICE: Please make sure you are not booking an appointment with any of these states: Lagos State, Ogun State and Abuja, seems JAMB offices are yet to fully reopen for services yet, try choosing a different state or keep trying.

7. FAQ / ERROR COMPLAINT: Can i book an appointment with Cyber Cafes or Business centers for any of the JAMB services like change of course / institutions, data correction or upload of o'level results?

SOLUTION / ADVICE: NOPE! As at the time of this post, JAMB has not allowed cafes to do any other activities on its portal other than printing of results.
