Nursing and Midwifery Council Ghana (NMC Ghana) Makes Preparation Ahead of the 2020 Online Licensing Examinations for Auxiliary and Basic Programmes.

The Registrar of the Nursing and Midwifery Council, Mr. Felix Nyante has tasked Heads of Nursing and Midwifery Training Institutions to ensure that the coronavirus (COVID-19) safety protocols are strictly adhered to in their various schools.

In a zoom meeting with the Heads as part of the preparations towards the conduct of the 2020 Online Licensing Examinations, Mr. Nyante stressed the need for the Head to ensure that trainees, tutors and non-teaching staff wear facemasks, observe social distancing protocols and practice good hygiene.

Mr. Nyante announced that barring any unforeseen circumstances, the 2020 Online Licensing examinations for the Auxiliary and Basic programmes would be conducted in phases commencing on July 20, 2020.

He noted that Government through the Ministry of Health and Ghana Health Service has made adequate provision for personal protective equipment (PPE) to all public and private schools. The Council is aware that a good number of schools have received their allocations. Heads of Institutions who have not yet received theirs are requested to approach their regional medical stores to receive their allocation.

He added that the Council will collaborate effectively with the Training Institutions to ensure that there are adequate social distancing mechanisms and adherence to safety protocols at the examination centres by both candidates and invigilators
