Rivers State Schools Academic Calendar 2024/2025 | 1st, 2nd & 3rd Term
The Rivers State Ministry of Education has released the academic calendar for nursery, primary, junior, and senior secondary schools for the 2024/2025 academic session. Below are the details:
First Term
- Start Date: Monday, 9th September 2024
- End Date: Friday, 13th December 2024
- Duration: 14 weeks
- Mid-Term Break: Friday, 25th October – Monday, 28th October 2024
- Holiday Period: Monday, 16th December 2024 – Friday, 3rd January 2025 (3 weeks)
Second Term
- Start Date: Monday, 6th January 2025
- End Date: Friday, 11th April 2025
- Duration: 14 weeks
- Mid-Term Break: Friday, 21st February – Monday, 24th February 2025
- Holiday Period: Monday, 14th April 2025 – Friday, 2nd May 2025 (3 weeks)
Third Term
- Start Date: Monday, 5th May 2025
- End Date: Friday, 25th July 2025
- Duration: 12 weeks
- Mid-Term Break: Friday, 13th June – Monday, 16th June 2025
- Holiday Period: Monday, 28th July 2025 – Friday, 5th September 2025 (6 weeks)

- Placement for JSS1 and SS1: July 2024.
- Boarders: Expected to report on Saturday, 7th September 2024.
- Normal Classes: Start Monday, 9th September 2024.
