Ekiti State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology Schools Academic Calendar for First (1st), Second (2nd) and Third (3rd) Term Academic Activities for Public and Private [Primary and Secondary Schools] for 2024/2025 Academic Session.

The Ekiti State Ministry of Education, Science and Education has released the official first, second and third term academic calendar of activities for all Public and Private [Primary and Secondary Schools] for 2024/2025 Academic Session.


According to the Approved 2024/2025 Ekiti State School Term Dates:

  • 1st Term 2024/2025 Resumes on Monday 16th September, 2025
  • 2nd Term 2024/2025 Resumes on Monday 6th January, 2025
  • 3rd Term 2024/2025 Resumes on Monday 28th April, 2025


Ekiti State Schools Academic Calendar 2024/2025 | 1st, 2nd & 3rd Term

First Term

  • Start Date: Monday, 16th September 2024
  • End Date: Friday, 13th December 2024
  • Duration: 13 weeks
  • Mid-Term Break: Thursday, 31st October – Friday, 1st November 2024 (2 days)
  • Holiday Period: Saturday, 14th December 2024 – Sunday, 5th January 2025 (3 weeks)

Second Term

  • Start Date: Monday, 6th January 2025
  • End Date: Friday, 4th April 2025
  • Duration: 13 weeks
  • Mid-Term Break: Thursday, 20th February – Friday, 21st February 2025 (2 days)
  • Holiday Period: Saturday, 5th April 2025 – Sunday, 27th April 2025 (3 weeks)

Third Term

  • Start Date: Monday, 28th April 2025
  • End Date: Friday, 25th July 2025
  • Duration: 13 weeks
  • Mid-Term Break: Thursday, 12th June – Friday, 13th June 2025 (2 days)
  • Holiday Period: Saturday, 26th July 2025 – Sunday, 14th September 2025 (7 weeks)

Additional Notes

  1. Start of Academic Session:
    The 2024/2025 academic session officially begins on Monday, 16th September 2024.

  2. Observance of Public Holidays:
    All National Public Holidays, as declared by the Federal Government, must be observed accordingly.

  3. Commencement of Academic Activities:
    Full academic activities are expected to begin in all schools on the first day of each term.

  4. Open Day for Parent-Teacher Interaction:
    Schools are required to select a specific day as an "Open Day" for parents and teachers to interface. Schools must notify Area Education Officers, Tutors-General, Education Secretaries, and the Ministry of Education about the chosen dates.
