2022 UTME: JAMB Introduces Optional USSD Code (66019)

Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Introduces ''66019'' as Additional / Optional USSD Code Ahead of the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) & Direct Entry (DE) Registration Exercise.

As part of the intensive preparations for a hitch-free 2022 UTME/DE registration exercise, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the introduction of  ''66019'' as an additional USSD code to be used by candidates besides the 55019 code that had been in operation since 2018 for registration and other essential services offered by the Board.

The 55019 code is used to create profiles for registration by candidates who are required to send their National Identification Number (NIN) via the code for their details to be pulled from the NIMC database before proceeding to a certified centre for their biometric capturing.

To ensure that there is no congestion during registration when many candidates would be sending their requests via ''55019'' and ''66019'' for the 2022/23 UTME/DE Registration and Examination. The introduction of ''66019'' USSSD Code is to have an alternative code with a similar function for the benefit of candidates should they encounter any unexpected challenge with the other code.

It is to be noted that the Board had used the 55019 USSD code exclusively in the last three or four UTME Registration and Examination exercises successfully, but in launching another code, the Board is aligning its service delivery with global best practices as well as a desire to eliminating completely any hurdle that could ever be encountered by candidates in a bid to create their profiles. This would ensure
that candidates get value for money spent as well as the quality service they deserve.

JAMB USSD CODE: 60019 THE NEW ADDITION TO 55019 USSD CODE.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has adopted 66019 as an additional and optional USSD code besides the 55019 code that had been in operation since 2018 for UTM E/ DE registration and other essential services offered by the Board.

This is to facilitate a hitch-free 2022 UTME/DE registration exercise by ensuring that there is no difficulty whatsoever in the creation of profiles by candidates, especially in a situation whereby many ofthem would be sending their requests via just one USSD code as hitherto the case.

In essence, the 55019 and 66019 are to be used to create their profiles for registration by candidates sitting the 2022/23 UTME/DE. As usual, candidates are required to send their National Identification Number(NIN) via either of these USSD codes for their details to be pulled from the NIMC database before they proceed to any accredited centre for biometric capturing.

It would be recalled that the Board had earlier given indications that, in its efforts to eliminating all bottlenecks associated with the creation of profiles, it was perfecting arrangements aimed at .
adopting an additional USSD code ‘ (66019) besides the 55019, which the Board had used exclusively since 2018 for its UTME/DE registration and examination exercises.
