IAUE Distance Learning Campus in Ukraine to Commence Soon - VC

Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE) Vice Chancellor Discloses that Distance Learning, Ukrainian Varsity Campus Coming Soon.

Plans have reached advanced stages to commence an Open and Distance Learning programme with the University of London, and to establish a campus of V.N. Karazin National University, Ukraine, at Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Port Harcourt, by November this year.

This was disclosed by the vice-chancellor of the university, Professor Ozo-mekuri Ndimele, after he received an award from the leadership of National Union of Ogoni Students, worldwide, in recognition of his human capacity and infrastructural development in the university, as well as his contributions to the reduction of youth restiveness in the society.


The vice-chancellor who noted that the two programmes would open up more opportunities to university education to Nigerians, stated that management was working within the limits of available resources to reposition the institution, adding that it is his intension to place the university on the global platform of universities in the world.

He declared that his administration operates an inclusive policy, urged the Ogoni students body to feel free to come up with ideas that would take the institution to new heights, and appreciated the union for the award. He described it as a genuine appreciation for the efforts the present administration has made so far in changing the narratives of the university.

Earlier, the national president of the union, comrade Kpalap Barinaadaa, had disclosed that the visit was to celebrate the vice-chancellor for his outstanding performances in the institution as demonstrated in his numerous transformational projects and rescue programmes.

The body observed that the vice-chancellor's positive projection of the institution to enviable status among sister institutions has endeared him to students and staff, as it recognized some of the projects the administration has executed.

Among them are the introduction of work while you study scheme, mass infrastructural development, and digitalization of the university, and other landmark achievements.
