Applications are invited from interested and suitably qualified candidates for admission into the School of Medical Laboratory Sciences (SLM) of the ABU Teaching Hospital (ABUTH), Zaria for 2020/2021 academic session.

Sales of forms for ABUTH SLM programmes commences from Tuesday 7th April, 2020 to 31st May, 2020 at the cost of Six Thousand Two Hundred Naira only (N6,200.00).

Duration and Admission Requirements

Special Fellowship of Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria

This is a Thirty Six (36) Months or 3years Course Leading to the award of FMLSCN.

Candidates wishing to apply must be:-
  • An Associate of Member Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (AMLSCN) plus a minimum of one (1) year post qualification experience.
  • Have NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.
  • Have Current practicing license of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria.

Method of Application

Application forms for admission are online and accessed at http://apply.abuth.gov.ng however, in case of difficulties, candidates are advised to come to the “MAC” office in Tudun-wada, Zaria for assistance.

  • CLICK ON SIGNUP
  • CREATE YOUR PROFILE (Always ensure you write down your choosen LogIn ID and PASSWORD as you will need them to log back into the portal)
  • Click CHECK FORMS ON SALE or APPLY HERE (Make sure you read the program guideline and know the requirements of your proposed program before applying)
  • From the list of currently open programmes, choose by Clicking APPLY on the right end
  • Click APPLY
  • A transaction page will be displayed; Click GENERATE RRR at the bottom left of the page
  • A Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) number will be generated on the page
  • NOTE: paying online activates your account imediately.
  • (I) To pay online (Master/Visa/Internet Banking) CLICK on PayVia REMITA and follow the online guide. (After paying just refresh your page and continue from step-12)
  • (II) To pay through a Bank Branch, print your Transaction-slip or copy the RRR Number and proceed to any Commercial bank of your choice (Make sure the RRR Number appears on the slip before printing and going to the bank)
  • After payment come back to the portal http://apply.abuth.gov.ng
  • Click on LOGIN and enter the LOGIN ID and PASSWORD you created at step-3
  • Fill in all your details (Biodata, contact, Next of kin, Qualifications & passport Photo)
  • Click on MY FORMS from your profile menu and select SUBMIT APPLICATION on the right
  • Make sure you agree with terms and conditions by checking the box at the bottom of your submit-form details, then Finally Submit

General Admission/Selection Procedure

The School shall notify the public via Newspaper publication or through our website http://apply.abuth.gov.ng the commencement of sale of admission forms online. Interested candidates will have to apply Online

Oral Interview:

Candidates who have the basic entry qualification will be invited for oral selection interview. Those successful at the interview will be admitted thereafter.

Procedure for Registration:

Registration and documentation are compulsory for every new and returning student at the beginning of each semester/session.
All registration involves obtaining and completing relevant forms, payment of necessary fees and registering courses.
Each new student on arrival, reports to the registration officer with the following documents for verification:

  • Letter of offer of admission
  • A copy of acceptance letter
  • A Letter of identification from the student’s local government Area
  • A Letter of good conduct from an Imam, Clergyman or eminent personality from society
  • Six recent Passport sized photographs
  • A Medical report from a government hospital
  • Original copies of certificate.
  • Original Birth Certificate/Declaration of age

Submission of Stationeries.

At the beginning of every academic session, each Student of the School is expected to pay his or her School fees and monies as may be required by the School of Medical Laboratory Science, ABU Teaching Hospital, Zaria.

Normal Registration:

All students are required to register on admission and at the beginning of each Semester. Students must register for their respective programme in person within Two Weeks of the start of the Semester.
A student is regarded as having registered on the date he completes the registration formalities which include paying the prescribed fees and other charges, filling the registration forms Online and Print the Course Registration submitting same to the registration officer.

Late Registration:

All students are required to register within the first Two Weeks of each Semester. Any registration which is not completed within the normal period shall be regarded as late registration and shall be subjected to extra charges as prescribed by the School’s Management.
Any students who fail to register for his/her courses before the closing date of registration shall not be allowed to attend class.

Accomodation:

The course at present in non-residential successful candidate will be required to arrange for their own accommodation.
