OKOPOLY Online Lecture Guidelines 1st Semester 2019/2020

Federal Polytechnic Oko (OKOPOLY) Announces Online Lecture Resumption / Commencement Date and Registration Guidelines for First (1st) Semester, 2019/2020 Academic Session [ND & HND Students].

This is to inform all students of the Federal Polytechnic Oko (OKOPOLY) that the management has approved resumption date and commencement of online lectures for first Semester 2019/2020 which was suspended because of COVID-19 outbreak.

OKOPOLY Resumption date for commencement of online lectures for first semester has been slated for Monday 11th May, 2020.

I am directed to inform you that the first semester 2019/2020 lectures which were suspended because of the Covid-19 outbreak are now to resume and continue online. All are enjoined to cooperate in making this work.

In line with this, ND I and HND I students will be served using WhatsApp while ND II and HND II students will use the polytechnic portal www.federalpolytechnicoko.com.

a. ND I and IIND I Programmes 

Heads of Departments are to create WhatsApp groups for their ND 1 and HND I classes and supervise same. The lectures may take text, audio or video formats depending on lecture peculiarity of each department and upload same to the WhatsApp group.

The Class Rep may receive the lectures and upload to their class groups. Classes that are more than 250 should have additional group created to ensure that no one is left behind. After uploading the Lecturer's lecture. The Lecturer is expected to leave a feedback WhatsApp number for students who may want further clarifications.

b. ND II and HND II Programmes

They will use the polytechnic portal www.federalpolytechnicoko.com.

1. Creating accounts for Lecturers on the website: HOD's to direct Lecturers who handle ND II and HND II classes to forward the following information to the email address [email protected] as follows. This should be sent individually.

  • Surname
  • First Name
  • Email Address
  • WhatsApp Number
  • Courses Taught by Lecturer

Accounts will be created for the Lecturers to enable than log into the portal. Once the account is created, they will receive email to that effect

2. Lecturer should thereafter forward their e-learning documents (text, audio, video as the case may be) to the email address [email protected] specifying course code, course title, level, topic and beneficiary department for upload

3. HOD's to sensitize their students about commencement of lectures using e-learning platform (class reps may be of good use). Students registration classes will start on Monday May 11th. 2020.

The following procedure will be followed:

  • Visit www.federalpolytechnicoko.com to register
  • Fill the necessary information and tick 'Student Option' before submitting. Students must use their registration numbers as USERNAME.
  • Thereafter, students are to log in using their details
  • Students who encounter problems could contact 070695367169 (WhatsApp only) for assistance 

To proceed with course learning:

  • Click on Courses
  • Select your department course
  • Click on desired course intended to study and enroll.
  • You can now access course content on documents, do assignments and exercises.
