Dear Parents, Principals, Teachers, Students, Concerned Stakeholders, we are happy to inform you that the 2023 InterswitchSPAK Nigeria Version 5.0 registration is NOW IN PROGRESS. InterswitchSPAK 5.0 IS LIVE and Schools can now register up to TEN (10) students. Registration of your students is open till 11:59pm, 16th June, 2023 and it’s free.

Why InterswitchSPAK?

InterswitchSPAK is the biggest Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) competition in Nigeria. Thousands of secondary schools in Nigeria have registered their students for a chance to win N12.5m worth of scholarships already. if you have not registered your students what are you waiting for?

INTRODUCTION

Similar to the Cowbellpedia Mathematics Competition InterswitchSPAK is an annual search across high schools (public and private) in Nigeria for only SS 2 (year 11) students between the ages of 14-17 years.It is introduced to chart the ideal career path and drive the student towards full optimization of their potentials and fulfillment of their dreams (either as an inventor or entrepreneur) with a key message of revving up the interest of students; parents, teachers and other key stakeholders towards STEM education and its application in Africa.

Participation on SPAK is FREE for all.


ISPAK OBJECTIVES

    1. To arouse and sustain keen interest in the study of STEM in high schools across Africa.
    2. To raise the standard of STEM education and reward excellence with educational grants through an unbiased competition that would promote sound education in Africa.
    3. To create a vehicle that is genuinely interested in the growth, development and well-being of Africa students and teachers through various interventions including scholarship schemes for outstanding STEM students.

      HOW TO PARTICIPATE:

      • This competition is open to students in SSS2 (year 11) between 14 – 17 years; attending full time Secondary Education in both Public and Private Schools in Nigeria.
      • Participation in this competition is FREE.
      • Registration to participate is strictly online via https://interswitchspak.com/
      • A school can register up to 10 students. Each School can only register a minimum of six (6) and maximum of ten (10) Students. (SS2 students) regardless of sex, religion and tribe.
      • Mixed-schools are required to have at least two female students-amongst the six(6) that would represent them.
      • Online CBT exams will hold from Wednesday 21st to Wednesday 28th June, 2023. You don’t need to travel to write the qualifying examination. 
      • The Examination is fully online and can be written in your school, home or any convenient space.
      • You have a choice of three (3) days to pick from (between 8am -6pm) to write the examination.

      THE EXAMINATION

      There are two main levels of the competition.

      FIRST ROUND: WRITTEN QUALIFYING EXAMINATION

      This stage will is in two parts; 1. The first Part: All the registered candidates on the platform based on the time and date specified by the organizer, are expected to participate in this round of the competition. 2. The second part: After the first round examination, the Top 500, selected across all state, will proceed to the second stage of the competition. The best 81 students from this stage will then proceed to the Stage Two (TV Quiz show) of the competition. Each school is to prepare their representatives for the qualifying test in four subjects- Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.


      SECOND ROUND: TV QUIZ COMPETITION

      The best 81 students (with the highest scores) out of those who wrote the qualifying examination will be invited to participate at this stage of the competition. This will be recorded and transmitted on Television across Nigeria and Africa.

      InterswitchSPAK Winners Prize List

      1. Overall 1st Winner will be awarded a 5-year scholarship in any Nigerian tertiary institution, a laptop, gold trophy and monthly stipends for the 5 years, all totaling N7.5million.
      2. Overall 2nd winner will be given a 3-year scholarship, a laptop, silver trophy accordingly and monthly stipends for the 3 years, all totaling N4million
      3. Overall Third winner will receive a 1-year scholarship, a laptop, and a bronze trophy worth ₦1,000,000

      Notes
      • The winners of the InterswitchSPAK + Project will be rewarded with Founders Award
      • 1 st to 3 rd place winners stand an optional chance of being employed by Interswitch
      • Please note that all the participating schools are expected to be rewarded with e- certificates and other prizes based on their different point/s of disengagement
       

        RULES AND REGULATIONS:

          1. The ISPAK National exam will hold as scheduled to hold online
          2. Students are to come along with only HB pencil, eraser, ruler and statistical table, NO CALCULATORS WILL BE ALLOWED.
          3. Students must conduct themselves in an orderly manner
          4. Any act of misconduct will lead to disqualification of the student.
          5. The competition is open to SS2 (year 11) students ONLY.
          6. Each school is to prepare their representatives for the qualifying exams in Physics, Chemistry, Biology & Mathematics based on the current SS2 WAEC/NECO syllabuses.
          7. The decision of the organizers/ NECO is final and we shall not enter into any correspondence with anyone regarding the conduct of this examination.

            PLEASE NOTE
            1. Students are advised to check their results via the online platform that will be made available to them in July 2023.
            2. Only qualified students will be contacted for the second stage (TV quiz) of the competition.
            3. The InterswitchSPAK National Science Competition is to discover Nigeria’s best science student.
            4. Registration of your students is open till 11:59pm, 16th June, 2023 and it’s free.
            5. Schools are now allowed register up to Ten (10) SS2 Science Students each
            6. Online CBT exams will hold on Wednesday 21st to Wednesday 28th June, 2023.
            7. You don’t need to travel to write the qualifying examination. The Examination is fully online and can be written in your school, home or any convenient space.
            8. You have a choice of three (3) days to pick from (between 8am -6pm) to write the examination.
            9. A school can register up to 10 students. Each School can only register a minimum of six (6) and maximum of ten (10) Students. (SS2 students) regardless of sex, religion and tribe.

              • The first Part: All the registered candidates on the platform based on the time and date specified by the organizer, are expected to participate in this round of the competition.
              • The second part: After the first round examination, the Top 500, selected across all state, will proceed to the second stage of the online qualifying examination. The best 81 students from this stage will then proceed to the Stage Two (TV Quiz show) of the competition.
                • a. The examination will happen within 3days (8hours per day). Students can choose anytime between the three days allocated for the examination provided the period is available.
                • b. Each student on the platform will have a 5 minute demo session to get acquainted with the platform before taking the test.
                • c. All registered students will have 2 chances of writing the CBT and the system will pick the better of the two scores.

            CLOSING DATE
